Mohs Micrographic Surgery

The gold-standard surgical treatment for skin cancer, offering the highest cure rate while preserving as much healthy tissue as possible.

Mohs micrographic surgery is the most precise and effective treatment available for many skin cancers, particularly those on the face and other cosmetically sensitive areas. It offers the highest cure rate of any skin cancer treatment while removing as little healthy tissue as possible.

During the procedure, your surgeon removes the visible cancer along with a thin layer of surrounding tissue, then examines it under a microscope right away. If any cancer cells remain, only the affected area is treated again, and the process repeats until the margins are completely clear, all in a single day.

Because the cancer is mapped and removed layer by layer, Mohs surgery spares healthy skin and produces the smallest possible wound. Once the cancer is fully cleared, your surgeon repairs the site with careful attention to function and appearance, supporting the best possible cosmetic outcome.

Mohs surgery is typically performed under local anesthesia in our office, and most patients go home the same day. Our team guides you through every step, from preparation to wound care, so you feel informed and supported throughout.
