Cyst Removal
In-office removal of epidermoid, sebaceous, and other cysts to relieve discomfort and prevent recurrence, with care to limit scarring.
Cysts are common, benign growths that can develop under the skin and slowly enlarge over time. While many are harmless, they can become tender, inflamed, or infected, and they may continue to grow until they are removed.
Our dermatologists evaluate the cyst and recommend the best approach. When a cyst is removed completely, including its wall or sac, the chance of it returning is greatly reduced, which is why proper surgical removal is preferable to simply draining it.
Cyst removal is typically performed in our office under local anesthesia, and we take care to limit scarring and support smooth healing. If a cyst is currently inflamed or infected, we may first treat the inflammation before scheduling definitive removal.
